Keystone Retrofit Print Ad

Objective
Find an attention grabbing way to advertise Keystone’s line of retrofit lighting products within the popular industry magazine, Today’s Electrical Distributor. 

Creative Direction
An old fashioned 8-bit video game aesthetic was chosen as a throwback to retrofits. The audience was mostly male and of an age demographic that played these games growing up. 

The headline was a familiar reference to a line in many video games, and served as a quick and easy way to explain the value proposition of retrofit kits.
A carrot with the word “retrofits” was included at the bottom, connecting the tagline and brand promise “Light Made Easy” to this product line. 

Result
This ad, amongst the many other ads in tED magazine that I provided creative direction and copy for (viewable throughout my portfolio), was well received and had high recall by Keystone’s reps and customers. This ad was a part of a larger ongoing campaign that was shown to outperform many other ads in the magazine and gain more brand awareness for Keystone.
